January - February 2010 - Publishers Message:
I find it strange how some issues take on a life of their own. With this issue, a nostalgic theme has developed. Marty Newman brings us vintage race boats, Tom Schweitzer brings us some kool old race cars, Ross Schneider came across a rare find of old supplies and I have included some of my most recently restored vintage safe projects. I realize that in this day and age with times being lean we have to expand our thinking to beyond the vehicle. With that in mind, Dick Balfour shares some of his recent piano projects and Brian The Brush shows us how to fill spare time while creating a demand for unique art.
As a treat for this issue we have a special centerfold spread of Alton’s exquisite tribute panel recently completed for collector Dick Downing of Des Moines, Iowa, and a special feature by John Carollo; Remembering Bobbo, which contains stories from many of his friends. Also in this issue we have Chuck Kelley, Randy Melton, and a great how-to from Mr.“J”.
We have a new artist locater page at www.autoartmagazine.com , which I believe is a bonus, as this page could help all of us in this current economy to get work. We get hundreds of hits per day to this website and now John Q Consumer can easily locate someone in their own area with a click of their mouse from AutoArtMagazine.com and BobBondArt.com. People have called us several times over the years to see if we know of an artist in their area; thus the idea for this page was formed.
Enjoy this issue with its journey back through time and creative motivational ideas. Till next time…
